BASEBALL GETS RARE SWEEP OF UNCG

BEACH, Fla., May 8, 2008
-- After posting
the best regular-season winning percentage in school history, the
North Carolina A&T softball team was eliminated from the MEAC
Tournament on the first day of competition. The Aggies lost
their first round game to Delaware State 5-1 and lost in an
elimination game to Florida A&M 4-3. The Aggies season ends at
31-17-1.

MEAC COACH OF THE YEAR HONORS
DAYTONA
BEACH, Fla., May 7, 2008
-- North Carolina
A&T softball coach Mamie Jones led her team to a 31-15-1
regular-season record, won a share of the MEAC Southern Division and
broke the school record for winning percentage. On Wednesday,
she earned the 2008 MEAC Coach of the Year award for her efforts. |

WINS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Four Aggies named first-team all-conference
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., May 7, 2008 -- Jennifer Luper won 20 games
as a freshman and went 7-1 against conference opponents to earn MEAC
Rookie of the Year honors. Luper along with teammates Chaola Simmons,
Lillian Bullock and Yahamma White earned first-team All-MEAC honors. |

AGGIES SWEEP EAGLES
BALTIMORE,
Md., May 4, 2008
-- The
North Carolina A&T baseball took care of Coppin State 17-2 on Sunday
to complete a three-game
sweep of the Eagles. Marquis Frink (pictured) improved to 4-3 on the
season and Nick Rogers hit his third home run of the series to lead
the Aggies. The Aggies registered 48 runs and 45 hits during the
series. |

AGGIE MEN
FINISH SECOND AT MEAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
BALTIMORE, Md., May 3, 2008 -- The North Carolina A&T men's track
and field team didn't have the number of bodies needed to win the MEAC
championship, but the Aggies took what they had and came away with an
impressive showing at the 2008 MEAC Outdoor Track and Field
Championships. The Aggies finished second with a score of 95.

TRIPS UP AGGIES CHANCES OF WINING WOMEN'S TITLE
Smith wins triple and long jump championships
BALTIMORE, Md., May 3, 2008 -- Loreal Smith's injury in the 100
meter hurdles hurt the North Carolina A&T women's track and field team's
chances of winning a team title, but the Aggies still came away with
three titles. Kimona Smith won the long and triple jumps and Loreal
Smith and the 400 relay team took gold. |
