Tim Johnson had another strong outing and Neil Rosser went 3-for-3 to lead the North Carolina A&T baseball team to a 4-2 win over Radford on Friday in the first game of a three-game series. For the Aggies it was their second straight win following their 10-game losing streak.

They improved to 5-10 on the season while the Highlanders fell to 7-6. Johnson pitched 7.2 innings, gave up only four hits and surrendered just one run in improving to 2-1 and keeping his ERA under 2.00 for the season.

The Aggies big inning came in the fourth when sophomore C.J. Beatty hit his fifth home run of the season with a two-run homer off of Radford starter Evans to give the Aggies a 3-0 lead. The Aggies added another run in the fifth when Rosser hit his second home run of the season.

Tim Johnson took care of the rest. He held the Highlanders to just two hits over the first six innings of the game. Leading 4-1, he ran into trouble in the eighth. He gave up a one-out single followed by a triple to see his lead trimmed to two. He avoided another run scoring when Joe Wade threw out Rivers going home on a Duarte grounder. Marquis Frink, another Aggies pitcher off to a good start this season, earned his first save of the season by pitching 1.1 innings of hitless and scoreless baseball.
