John Primus returned to the form that has made him the North Carolina A&T baseball ace the last two seasons by pitching eight innings of shutout baseball to lead the Aggies to a 4-0 win over Radford. It was the Aggies third straight win and their second win in a three-game series with the Highlanders at War Memorial Stadium this weekend.

The Aggies improved to 5-10 on the season while the Highlanders fell to 7-7. Primus gave up just three hits, struck out two and walked three to earn his first win of the season. Going into the game, Primus had a enlarged 10.20 ERA. He lowered his ERA by more than 3 ½ points with his performance.

Joe McIntyre helped take care of the offense by going 2-for-4 with two RBI. McIntyre’s day included a double and a stolen base. B.J. Curtis ignited the Aggies offense in the second with a RBI double down the right field line that scored Nelson Santos who reached on a double.

The Aggies added a run in third and with the way Primus was pitching, the Aggies all but put the game away in the fourth. Nick Rogers led off the fourth with a double that was followed by two Aggie outs before Lester Rivenbark walked. Nick Mayo loaded the bases when he was hit by a pitch.

McIntyre then stepped up and hit a double down the left field line to sore Rogers and Rivenbark to give the Aggies a four-run lead. Chris Eggers came on in the ninth to shut down the Highlanders.
