Box Score The Aggies fell to 12-22 on the season after losing their sixth straight. The Aggies managed just three hits on the night and have just eight hits over their last three games. However, most of the night, the Tar Heel bats were silenced as well. Aggies starter Marquis Frink pitched seven strong innings for the Aggies. Over the first six innings of his outing, he surrendered just one run and that run was unearned. Frink (1-3) struck out eight Tar Heel batters and gave up just two walks. Over the first five innings, Frink only allowed two Tar Heels reach second base. One of those runners reached second thanks to an error. But in the sixth, the Tar Heels broke open a scoreless game Dustin Ackley led off the inning singling to right field. He moved to third thanks to an error on the play. Tim Fedroff scored him on a RBI single to single to left field to give the Tar Heels a 1-0 lead. The Tar Heels broke the game open in the seventh with a four-run inning. The biggest blows came off the bats of Ackley and Fedroff. They both hit two-run RBI doubles to give North Carolina a 5-0. Fedroff had three RBIs on the day. Five North Carolina pitchers combined for the shutout of the Aggies. Mike Facchinei (2-0) earned the win by going 6.1 innings, giving up just two hits while striking out eight. The Tar Heels improved to 26-7. The Aggies are back in action Saturday when they play a noon conference doubleheader in Princess Anne, Md.
