Joe Wade has bee a valuable utility player and pinch-hitter for the Aggies during his two-year stint…He has played second base and in the outfield for North Carolina A&T…In 2007, he worked his away into the starting lineup as the Aggies second baseman, starting every game there after May 6, 2007…As a pinch-hitter, he is an impressive 7-for-19 at the plate as a pinch-hitter…He has played in 76 games with 48 starts for the Aggies…He is a business management major and is the son of Ronnie and Allison Wade.
6-2, 190-pound senior, Tim Johnson; Statesville, N.C. Johnson came to North Carolina A&T after transferring in from UNC Asheville…During his time here, he has been a valuable piece to the Aggies starting rotation…He has a career record of 12-6 with 157 strikeouts and a 5.02 career ERA…He has struck out an impressive 8.64 batters per nine innings pitched…He has pitched four complete games in 37 career appearances and he has made 25 starts for the Aggies…This season, Johnson leads the MEAC in innings pitched, wins and strikeouts…He ranks ninth in the nation in wins and 15th in the country in strikeouts …He is an environmental agricultural major and is the son of Tim and Joyce Johnson.
Nick Mayo is a four-year starter at shortstop for North Carolina A&T…He has won a MEAC Championship and helped the Aggies reach the MEAC title game in twice during his career…His defense has been valuable to the Aggies recent successes and his superior base-running ability has caused havoc for Aggie opponents…He is a career .270 hitter with five home runs and 114 career RBIs…In the field, he has a .923 fielding percentage and has more than 600 assists and 300 putouts…Mayo has also stolen 77 bases in his career and led the MEAC in stolen bases as a sophomore…This season, Mayo leads the MEAC in assists with 148…He had his streak of 173 consecutive starts snapped on March 2, 2008 when he didn’t make the start against Louisville…It marked the first time in his career he was not the starter at shortstop…He has played in 209 games with 208 starts…He is a sports science and fitness major and is the son of Pete and Kathy Mayo.
Jeremy Jones has had one of the most accomplished careers in the history of Aggie Athletics…He is a career .360 hitter with 24 home runs and 162 career RBIs…He has 282 career hits, putting him just 22 hits away from breaking the school’s all-time hits record…Jones also has 55 career doubles and a career .545 slugging percentage…Although he has not played in the field this season, he has also proven to be an excellent fielder with a career .967 fielding percentage…He is the school’s all-time leader in runs scored, having scored for the Aggies 197 times…He is 18 hits away from becoming just the second or third Aggie to record more than 300 hits in a career…During his career Jones has been named MEAC Player of the Year, Blackcollegebaseball.com Player of the Year and N.C. A&T Male Freshman Athlete of the Year… He has earned All-American notoriety from four different organization, including the National College Baseball Writers Association, Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball and Louisville Slugger…He has been deemed a national player of the year candidate by the Brooks Wallace Watch List and CSTV.com…As a sophomore, he put together one of the best season’s in the history of the program when he batted .402 with 46 RBI, four home runs and 20 doubles…Baseball America publication considered him to be the top candidates to be drafted before the 2006 season…In 2005, he was named to the All-Clemson Regional team when the Aggies participated in the NCAA Baseball Tournament…He was also named the No. 1 prospect in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League in 2005…In 2006, he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies and this season he could become a four-time All-MEAC performer…On top of all that he is a two-time All-MEAC Academic selection and a three-time N.C. A&T scholar athlete…He has played in 206 games with 206 starts…He is a 2007 graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and is the son of Jackie and John Jones.
Brewington has been a steady player and valuable base runner for head coach Keith Shumate throughout his career…His speed on the bases is tremendously impressive…He is a career .268 hitter with two home runs and 32 RBIs…He also has 16 career doubles, four career triples and has scored 58 times…He has stolen 19 bases in 25 attempts and has a career .372 on-base percentage… Named to the MEAC All-Academic team as a freshman, sophomore and junior…He is an information systems major and is the son of Phillip and Priscilla Brewington. 5-11, 175-pound senior, John Primus, Garner, N.C. Primus has played several key roles for the Aggies over his career…Those roles include being the Aggies second baseman, pitching ace and providing the Aggies with offense at the plate….In 2006, he had an incredible season in which he became the Aggies starting second baseman and the No. 1 starter…He batted .280 with 12 RBIs and eight doubles at the plate and was 6-6 on the mound with a MEAC-leading 90 strikeouts, a 4.51 ERA and five complete games…On the mound, Primus has a 19-17 career record with a 4.50 ERA and 273 career strikeouts…He has struck out 6.9 batters per nine innings…As a freshman, he was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American after going 7-3 in helping the Aggies win the 2005 MEAC Championship…At the plate, he is a career .256 hitter with 35 runs scored, nine doubles and 17 RBIs…He has made 62 career appearances, 49 starts and has played in 74 games with 64 starts…He is an accounting major and is the son of John and Doza Primus.
Nelson Santos has provided the Aggies with much-needed power in the lineup over the past two seasons…The New York native transferred to N.C. A&T from Monroe Community College…He has played in 96 games with 91 starts for the Aggies at either second base or third base…He is a career .260 hitter with seven home runs and 46 RBIs…He also has 16 career doubles and three career triples…Last season, he stepped in and hit seven home runs and drove in 30 runners…He helped the Aggies reach the MEAC title game with a game-winning RBI double against Bethune-Cookman…He is a sports science and fitness major and is the son of Nelson and Cynthia Santos.
Marquis Frink has put together an excellent senior season for North Carolina A&T…Frink leads the MEAC in saves (4), appearances (23), games finished (19) and relief appearances (19)…He is second in the conference strikeouts behind teammate Tim Johnson…He is fourth in fewest home runs allowed, fourth in innings pitched, fifth in ERA (2.82) and he has not allowed a triple all season…Frink has a 3-4 career record with a 4.24 career ERA…He has struck out 90 batters in his career while making 43 appearances and four career starts… He is a business management major and is the son of Tyrone and Michelle Frink.
Joe McIntyre will down as one of the best clutch players in the history of Aggies baseball…Sixty-one of his career 174 RBIs have come with two outs…No player in the MEAC has more two-out RBIs than McIntyre over the last four seasons…He has led the MEAC in 2-out RBIs two out of the last three seasons and he leads the conference in that category again this season…He is an amazing 17-for-33 in his career when he comes to the plate with the bases loaded and he is hitting .386 in his career when comes to the plate with runners in scoring position…After the month of April in his career, he bats an impressive .377…He also has three walk-off hits in his career and has scored 155 times…McIntyre is a two-time All-MEAC performer…As a freshman, he was named MEAC Tournament MVP as he led the Aggies to the 2005 title…He is a career .338 hitter with 23 career homers and 68 career doubles…He is 23 hits shy of 300, which will make him either the second or third player to reach the 300-hit plateau…He has played 214 games with 212 starts…As a junior he led the MEAC in RBIs, and ranked among the best in the nation in RBIs and doubles…He is a mathematics major and is the son of Joe McIntyre and Joni Wells.
Neil Rosser is the sixth and final member of the day we will honor who was a member of the Aggies 2005 MEAC Championship team…Rosser was a key part of that team as a freshman…During the NCAA Regional game against Clemson, Rosser went 3-for-4 and recorded RBI double that scored Nick Mayo…Rosser’s key contributions for the Aggies have come behind the plate…He has thrown out 68 base stealers in his career and has a 26 percent success rate in throwing out base stealers…He has also compiled an impressive .975 career fielding percentage…A four-year starter at catcher, Rosser has caught for a MEAC Pitcher of the Year, a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American and an eight-game winner…He is a career .224 hitter with 11 home runs and 50 RBIs…He has played in 164 games with 144 starts…Rosser majors in health education and fitness and wellness management and is the son of Grayson and Tersia Rosser.
Eggers has been a reliable arm for head coach Keith Shumate…He has served as a starter, middle reliever and closer for the Aggies…Eggers has a 14-16 career record with a 5.34 ERA and 139 career strike outs…This season he has proven valuable for the Aggies…He is second in the MEAC in appearances, third in relief appearances, fifth in innings pitched and seventh in strikeouts…Over his career he has struck 6.4 batters per nine innings pitched…As a junior, he pitched one of the best games by an Aggie in recent memory…In a MEAC Tournament win over Delaware State, he pitched nine innings and struck out 15…He has made 53 career appearances, pitched 188.2 innings and has been a starting pitcher 22 times over his career.
