NEAL EARNS PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

Neal homered three times last week  

GREENSBORO, April 29, 2009 – Jaron Neal has gone from being a reserve to one of the main weapons in the North Carolina A&T baseball team’s lineup. Neal continued to put together a marvelous senior season by being named MEAC Player of the Week.

Neal was instrumental in leading the Aggies to a 4-2 record for the week. Neal was 11-for-25 for the week (.440) with three home runs and eight RBIs. Neal had five extra base hits for the week, which helped him compile a .920 slugging percentage.

Neal started the week by going 3-for-4 with two RBIs in a 7-6 win over cross-town rival UNC Greensboro. In the third game of a three-game series against Coppin State over the weekend, Neal hit two home runs and recorded in a triple in a 14-9 win over the Eagles.

For the season, Neal is hitting .365 with three home runs and 21 RBIs. Before the start of the season, Neal had played in 13 games with two starts for the Aggies. This season, he has been a fixture in the No. 5 spot I in the Aggies batting order.
