HAUFF WINS ANOTHER WEEKLY HONOR

Hauff has a 1.17 ERA in his last three starts

GREENSBORO, N.C., April 3, 2006 – In the era of the aluminum bat, it is almost unheard of for a pitcher to have an ERA under two runs, unless your name is Michael Hauff.

For the second time in three weeks, Hauff has earned MEAC Pitcher of the Week Honors. The senior right-hander out of Asheboro, N.C., pitched seven innings against Florida A&M without giving up an earned run and struck out seven to lower his ERA to 1.86.

He improved to 3-1 on the season in helping the Aggies win their first conference game of the season. He has surrendered just three earned runs in his last 23.2 innings pitched.

Hauff has 62 strikeouts in 48.1 innings pitched and strikes out every third batter that he faces. Hauff, last season’s MEAC Pitcher of the Year, won MEAC Pitcher of the Week honor two weeks ago for a complete-game 15-strikeout performance against the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
