Throughout most of his career, has served mostly as a pinch-hitter for the Aggies with a few starts mixed in between...Has been head coach Keith Shumate’s most reliable pinch-hitter…Has six career pinch hits in 22 pinch-hit at bats…Has played in 66 games with 33 starts…Earned the most playing time of his career as a junior with 23 starts…Is a solid first baseman with a career .952 fielding percentage…Has been a member of the MEAC ‘s All-Academic team for three years.

2006 Season
Played 38 games with 23 starts…Thirty-eight games played and twenty-three starts were both career highs…Batted .228 with six RBI and one home run…Ranked third in the conference in pinch-hits with four…Ranked first in the MEAC with pinch-hit at-bats with 10…Was most effective against left-handers with a .286 batting average…Batted .273 with runners in scoring position…Had four multiple-hit games…Went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two doubles on March 4 against  Radford…A day earlier, hit his first career home run against the Highlanders as his two-run blast helped the Aggies to victory…Went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI in a win over Delaware State…Went 2-for-4 with an RBI against Bethune-Cookman in the MEAC Tournament on May 18.

2005 Season
Served as a pinch-hitter last season for the Aggies…Made 41 plate appearances in 21 games played last season…Made nine starts and batted .195 with one RBI and eight base on balls…Was 2-for-3 with an RBI in a 14-5 win over Albany on March 3…Was 1-for-4 with a run scored in a loss at Campbell on March 15.

2004 Season
Compiled three hits last season in a limited role…recorded two RBI as a freshman…recorded his first career hit, a triple, on March 23, 2004 against Coppin State.

High School Accomplishments
Played four varsity seasons at Kinston High School under his father Ronnie Battle…Was a first-team all-conference selection as a senior…Was an honorable mention selection as a junior…Received the Omega Psi Phi Community Service Award as a senior…Voted by his peers as one of the top 20 people in his class likely to succeed…Received the American Legion Post 43 Student Athlete of the Year Award as a senior.
