N.C. A&T Highlights
Expected to be a crucial part of the North Carolina A&T pitching rotation this season…Saw limited action last season because of back problems…Slimmed down during the off-season and became stronger so he could take over the No. 2 role in the rotation…Played his first season with the Aggies last season after transferring in from Southeastern Community College…Pitched as mostly a reliever in his first season as an Aggie, but did make five starts.
2006 Season
Made 12 appearances for the Aggies on the mound last season with five starts…Recorded an ERA of 6.23 over 39 innings pitched…Surrendered 55 hits (14 extra base hits), walked nine batters and struck out 24 batters before his season ended with back trouble on April 10…Started his N.C. A&T career 4-0…Had a 2-0 record before even starting his first game…Made his first career appearance in the fifth inning of a February 17 game against Cincinnati in which he entered the game with the Aggies trailing 10-7…Held the Bearcats to just one run and two hits over 3.1 innings to help the Aggies earn a 12-11 win in which he was named the winning pitcher…Earned his first career start on March 9 against Charlotte…Pitched eight innings, gave up eight hits, two runs, walked one and struck out two in a 3-2 Aggies win that was on a three-run homer in the top of the ninth thanks in part to Eggers ability to shut down the 49ers bats…Record moved to 4-0 with a seven-inning performance against Appalachian State on March 15, which he gave up just seven hits, two runs and struck out three in a 7-6 win…Had his first career set back with a loss to Norfolk State in the second game of a doubleheader in which he pitched 5.2 innings and struck out four in a 4-0 loss.
High school accomplishments
Played two varsity seasons under head Lee County head coach Charlie Spivey…Named team MVP as a ninth grader…Named to the Academic all-conference team as a junior and senior.
