Had a career season last
season in which he played in and started all 58 of the Aggies games …Set
school records in hits (84), RBI (54), doubles (21) total bases (141),
at-bats (231) and plate appearances (250)…Two of the records – doubles
and hits – are records teammate Jeremy Jones set the year before…Batted
a career-best .364 with eight home runs…Led the league in six different
statistical categories, including hits, RBI, total plate appearances,
at-bats, slugging percentage (.610) and doubles…Ranked second in the
league behind teammate Joe McIntyre in batting…Also ranked second in
runs scored (48) and triples (6)…Ranked fifth in the conference in home
runs (8) and sixth in stolen bases (16)…Batted .388 against left-handers
and .357 against righties…Batted an impressive .361 with two outs and a
whopping .425 with runners in scoring position…Averaged nearly two hits

Started all 53 games he
played in last season, making 196 plate appearances…Batted .337 with 13
home runs and 48 RBI as the Aggies cleanup batter…Had a .872 fielding
percentage as the Aggies third baseman…Ranked first in the MEAC in RBI
and home runs…Ranked ninth in the league in batting (.337)…His 66 hits
ranked him fourth in the league in hitting…Ranked second in the league
in slugging percentage (.612) and runs scored (51)…Tied for first in the
league with teammate Jeremy Jones in total bases (120), and was second
in the league in total plate appearances (228) and plate appearances
(196) behind Jones…Went 3-for-5 with a home run that clinched a 10-3 win
over Norfolk State and spot in the MEAC Tournament Championship
game…Went a combined 4-for-7 with an RBI and a home run in the Aggies to
NCAA Regional games in Clemson…Went 2-for-3 with two home runs, three
RBI and three runs scored in a 8-0 win over Coppin State that helped the
Aggies clinch the MEAC regular-season title…Went 3-for-3 with a double,
a home run and two RBI in a win over Delaware State…A day earlier, was
3-for-5 with a double, a home run and three RBI in a 14-5 win over
Albany…Hit for the cycle against Maryland-Eastern on April 2…Went
4-for-5 in the game with four RBI and three runs scored…Hit a walk-off
home run on March 29 to help the Aggies beat Campbell 3-2.
2004 Season
Batted .348 with three
homers and 34 RBI…Had a slugging percentage of .500 and an on-base
percentage of .397…Ranked first in the MEAC in doubles with 16…Was
second on the team in batting (.348) and 14th in the MEAC…Tied
for second on the team and seventh in the league in hits with 62…Was
second on the team in slugging percentage (.500) and total bases
(89)…Ranked third on the team in on-base percentage and RBI (34)…Had 16
multiple-hit ball games on the season…Had a five-hit day with three
runs scored and three doubles in a 6-2 Game 1 win over Coppin State on
April 9…On a March 6 doubleheader against Savannah State in which the
Aggies split, went a combined 6-for-8 with five RBI, three runs scored,
one homer, one triple and one double…Had a 3-for-4 night with three RBI
and three runs scored in a loss to Campbell on Feb. 20…Was 2-for-2 with
two RBI, a double and a run scored in a loss to Virginia on Feb. 15…Had
three hits, three runs and stole two bases in a 12-1 win over
Maryland-Eastern Shore on March 28.
High School Accomplishments
Played three varsity
seasons under his father, Charlie Gamble III, at Southern Guilford…Made
all-conference three years in a row…Also made All-Guilford County and
the Greensboro News & Record All-Area team…Participated in the
Junior State Games…Played in the Senior East-West All-Star Game…Earned
the Outstanding Senior Award at Southern Guilford…Was a Coke-a-Cola
Scholar Athlete for maintaining a 3.0 or better for all four years of
