Career Highlights
Missed almost the entire season last year with a wrist injury…Missed out what possibly could have been a banner year for him following a season in which he led the Aggies to a MEAC Championship and won the MEAC Player of the Year award…During the 2005 season, hit .402 with 46 RBI, four home runs, 20 doubles (a record at the time), a .588 slugging percentage and a .479 on-base percentage…Is a career .368 hitter with an impressive .975 fielding percentage over his career…Earned a medical redshirt for the 2006 season…Is quickly becoming one of the most accomplished athletes to ever attend North Carolina A&T…Before the start of the 2006 season, was added to the 2006 Brook Wallace National Player of the Year Watch list…Was also named as a third-team preseason All-American by the National College Baseball Writers Association…Named third-team All-American by Collegiate BaseballBaseball America publication considered him to be the top candidates to be drafted…Also in 2005, was named to the All-Clemson Regional team when the Aggies participated in the NCAA Baseball Tournament…Named the No. 1 prospect in the Southern Collegiate Baseball League…Was also named blackcollegebaseball.com’s Player of the Year…Broke the school’s single-season hits record last season with 82 hits in 2005 only to have it broken the next season by Charlie Gamble…Earned first-team All-MEAC honors, while being named blackcollegebaseball.com’s first-team as well…Made second-team All-MEAC as a freshman…Named N.C. 2006 Season
Missed almost the entire season with a wrist injury…Played in and started only one game…Had only two at-bats during the season…Reached base once with a walk…Despite the injury, was drafted in the 25th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Colorado Rockies on June 7…Decides to return to N.C. A&T for another season on July 25, citing the desire to complete his degree and get another year of college baseball under his belt before turning pro…Became the sixth player during the 11-year Shumate era to be drafted…Played some summer league baseball.

2005 Season
Started all 54 games last season as the Aggies primary center fielder…Recorded 82 hits in 204 plate appearances…Batted .402 with four home runs and 46 RBI, batting in the third spot for the Aggies…Played outstanding defense for the Aggies in center field, making just two errors in 103 fielding opportunities… Ranked 26th in the country in hitting…Led the conference in batting, hits, runs scored (53), on-base percentage (.479), doubles (20), total bases (120), total plate appearances (236) and plate appearances (204)…Had 26 multiple-hit games…In 10 of those games he had at least three hits…Was second in the MEAC in RBI behind teammate Charlie Gamble…Ranked fifth in the MEAC in stolen bases (19)…Named MEAC Player of the Week on three different occasions...Went 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI in the MEAC Championship Game against Norfolk State…Had a 3-for-4 night with two runs scored, two doubles, two RBI and two stolen bases in a win over Albany…The next night against Albany he went 4-for-5 with three runs scored, three RBI and a triple…Went 3-for-4 with a season-high four runs scored and added a RBI to help the Aggies to win over Norfolk State…Had a double, a single and triple in the game.  

2004 Season
Started and played in 49 games …Batted .335 with five home runs, 27 RBI and 11 walks…Ranked first on the team in hits (63), second on the team in runs scored (40), second on the team in home runs (5), third on the team in total bases (88) and third in batting (.335) …Recorded 12 stolen bases, fifth on the team…Led the team in at-bats with 188 …Went 3-for-4 with two runs, one RBI and a home run in a 11-10 loss to Campbell…Went 2-for-2 with one run scored, a double and an RBI in an 11-10 win over Savannah State on March 6…Had a 3-for-5 night, 2 RBI and a run scored in a 12-1 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore on March 28…Had three hits on four at-bats, scored three runs, four RBI and a homer in a 6-3 loss to the Big Ten’s University of Illinois…Had a 2-RBI night on 3-for-4 day at the plate and scored three runs in a 11-5 March 23 win over Coppin State.

High School Accomplishments
Played four varsity seasons at Terry Sanford High School under head coach Brian Ford…Was a four-time all-conference performer and All-Region standout…Finished his career at Terry Sanford with the 10th highest batting average in school history…Was Named Team MVP three years in a row…Was named the MVP of the East-West Game his senior son at Terry Sanford.
