2006 Season
Played
in and started all 58 games for the Aggies…Also made 10 appearances on
the mound with 10 starts…Ranked third in the league in hits (74), sixth
in the league in RBI (40), first in strikeouts (56) and third in doubles
(20)…Also ranked in the top 10 in the league in home runs (4th)
with nine and slugging percentage (7th) with a .528
average…Ranked second in the MEAC in at-bats (229), Ranked fourth in
total plate appearances (254) and total bases (121)…Batted .276 with
runners scoring position and .571 with a runner on third and less than
two outs…Batted better against right-handers than lefties with a .338
average against right-handed pitching… Had 23 multiple hit games,
including three games in which he had three hits or more…Blasted a
game-winning home run in the ninth against Charlotte on March 9 which
earned him a spot on Collegiate Baseball’s weekly accolades list…Put
together a season-high nine-game hitting streak to close out the
season…Went 13-for33 during the streak with six RBI and two home
runs…Had a seven-game hitting streak from April 1-8 in which he went
12-for-29 with 12 RBI and three home runs…On April 5 went 3-for5 with
five RBI, three runs scored and a home run against Wofford…On May 16
went 2-for-4 with three RBI, a double and a home run against Appalachian
State…Earned a 4.57 ERA on the mound as he struck out 34 and walked
34…Made his first start of the season on Feb. 19 against
Cincinnati…Pitched his first career complete-game against High Point
University in which he gave up six hits and struck out four in an 8-2
win…Pitched six innings against Delaware State on April 29…Struck out
seven and gave up just three hits and no runs in a 1-0 Aggies win.
2005 Season
Played
in 45 of the Aggies 54 games, making 44 starts…Batted .289 with six home
runs and 34 RBI after getting off to a slow start…Ranked fifth in
slugging percentage in the MEAC…Ranked fifth in the MEAC in RBI…Recorded
his first career hit on Feb. 6 when he went 2-for-4 against Duke…Started
the season hitting just .242 over the first nine games…Over the next 10
games improved his batting average by 42 points…By the end of April had
a batting average of .310…Had 11 multiple-hit games…Hit his first career
home run on against Gardner-Webb on Feb. 26 as he went 2-for-4 on the
day with one RBI and one run scored…Went 2-for-4 with two RBI against
UNC-Greensboro on Feb. 22…Went a combined 6-for-14 with six RBI and home
run in a three-game series with Maryland-Eastern Shore April 2-3…On
March 26, hit a tremendous shot over the left-center field that almost
found itself on E. Lindsay Street…Had six RBI and two home runs in a
three-game series against Savannah State April 10-11…Went 2-for-4 with
two RBI and two runs scored in the MEAC Championship game…Pitched a
total of six innings in two appearances, giving up no earned runs,
walking five and striking out three for an ERA of 0.00…Made his first
start on Arpil 2 against Wofford, pitching just two innings…Made his
second start on April 20 against Wofford and gave up just three hits and
three walks in a shutout win.
