Brungard bowls a 201 in third game

The North Carolina A&T  started the bowling season off by winning three matches in match play and three matches in Baker System play at the MEAC Divisional Play in Tallahassee, Fla., Saturday and Sunday.

Senior Jamie Brungard led the Aggies with an average score of 186 in match play. The Aggies blew away Norfolk State and Winston-Salem State, but lost a by just three to S.C. State. The Aggies pulled out a close match against Florida A&M after Bethune-Cookman defeated the Aggies by 38. The Wildcats were helped by a 107 from one of the Aggie individuals.

In Baker System play, the Rattlers and the Wildcats halted what could have been a 5-0 mark by taking the series from the Aggies 3 games-to-2. N.C. A&T lost 126-122 in Game 5 against the Rattlers. The Aggies were up 2-0 on the Wildcats before losing the last three games.

The Aggies did sweep Winston-Salem State and beat Norfolk State and S.C. State 3-1. The Aggies are back in action on Dec. 2-3 when they host the MEAC Divisional at Gate City Lanes in Greensboro. The Saturday matches start at 11:30 a.m., while the Sunday contests start at 9 a.m.
