JOHNSON, BRUNGARD LEAD AGGIES AT RELEASER'S

Aggies ready themselves for the MEAC Tournament with impressive showing

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., February 11, 2007 Jamie Brungard and Erica Johnson took all tournament honors and the Aggies had a second-place finish at the Releaser’s Invitational at Florida A&M. Brungard earned her second straight all-tournament honor and has been the Aggies most consistent bowler since the MEAC Roundup in early January.

Brungard had an outstanding average of 209.83 and her last four bowling contest, Brungard has had an average of 193.4.  Brungard bowled a 216 against the top MEAC team in the South – Bethune Cookman – as the Agies defeated the Wildcats 918-816.

Brungard also bowled a 208 against Winston-Salem State. Johnson meanwhile, also had two games over 200. She bowled a 214 in a win over Florida A&M and a 216 against the Rams. In Baker’s play, the Aggies went 7-4 over the three-day invitational. The Aggies lost the championship match against Bethune-Cookman three games-to-none.

The Aggies are now 53-18 overall, 24-12 in the MEAC, 29-12 in Baker Play and 24-6 in Team Match Play. Their next competition will be the MEAC Championships held in Virginia Beach, Va., March 16-18.
