AGGIES HAVE GOOD SHOWING IN HOUSTONHOUSTON, NOVEMBER 7, 2005 – Jamie Brungard finished with a tournament-high average of 231 as the Aggies bowling team finished 10-0 in the Le Tiger Classic hosted by Texas Southern in Houston, Texas over the weekend.
The Aggies performance moves them to 14-6 on the season and 7-1 in Baker’s System competition on the season. The Aggies are 7-5 in 5-person team match play. The Aggies defeated Texas Southern Louisiana Tech, Southern, Arkansas State and Florida A&M in match play. Danielle Hanna led the Aggies in their toughest matchup versus Texas Southern. Hanna bowled a 199 to help N.C. A&T defeat Texas Southern 931-924.
Brungard chipped in with a 190 and Cox had a 188 to secure the win. In Baker’s System play the Aggies were taken to the limit in four of the five matches. Southern and Texas Southern were defeated by a combined total of 25 pins in the deciding games.
Cox finished the weekend with a 202 average and is averaging 199 pins per game on the season.
