AGGIES GO 3-2 DURING DAY 1

Competition begins Saturday morning at 9

HIGH POINT, January 12, 2007 North Carolina A&T senior bowler Jamie Brungard averaged a 203 in the first day of the MEAC Roundup at the High Point Bowling Center as the Aggies went 3-2. Brungard’s day was her best showing of the season. The Northumberland, Pa., native bowled a 218 to lead the Aggies to a win over Hampton.

Sophomore Erica Johnson also recorded her best day of the season. Johnson, N.C. A&T Athletics’ Rookie of the Year, averaged a 189, including a score of 224 against Coppin State in Game 1. The Aggies improved to 17-8 on the season and 12-9 in the MEAC. Bethune-Cookman was the big winner of the day as the Wildcats went 5-0 during the first day.

The teams return to action Saturday at the High Point Bowling Center at 9 a.m. The competition concludes on Sunday.
