GREENSBORO, N.C., NOVEMBER 1, 2005 – Senior Hilary Cox knocked down an average of 196.43 pins to help the N.C. A&T bowling team place second in the Lady Indian Classic held in Jonesboro, Ark. The Aggies walked away from the Classic with a 4-6 overall record after finishing 2-1 in Baker’s System competition and 2-5 in 5-person team match play. After those competitions were over, the Aggies were seeded seventh for the Invitational Tournament portion of the Classic and defeated Vanderbilt, Minnesota State before losing to Central Missouri State in the finals for the second place finish. N.C. A&T loss the first two games of the competition in match play, but Cox bowled a 200 and Junior Danielle Hanna knocked an additional 227 pins to lead the Aggies to victory in Game 3 over Louisiana Tech. In the Aggies Game 5 victory, Hanna scored a 237 to lead the Aggies to a win over Southern. Hanna averaged 195.14 pins over the in 5-person team match play. In the Baker’s System, which is best three out of five, the Aggies defeated Vanderbilt 3-0 and Minnesota State 3-2 before falling to Central Missouri State 3-1. Cox finished 14th overall in the Classic, while Hanna had 16th place finish. The Aggies bowling team is back in action this weekend when it travels to Houston to play in the Le Tiger Classic hosted by Texas Southern. The matches are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 5 and 6.
