Aggies have won nine out of their last 10 matches in Baker

NORFOLK, Va., January 21, 2007 North Carolina A&T has played excellent in Baker play this past two weeks. Last week at the MEAC Roundup, the Aggies went 5-1 in Baker play (best 3 out of 5). This week at MEAC Divisional play, the Aggies went 4-0 in Baker play and finished 8-1 for the weekend in Norfolk, Va.

The Aggies improved to 31-11 overall and 24-11 in the conference. Jamie Brungard, the Aggies leader at the MEAC Roundup, finished with team-high average of 177 over five games in team-match play. The Aggies went 4-1, their only loss coming to Bethune-Cookman.

The Aggies lost to the MEAC-Southern-leading Wildcats despite Danielle Hanna’s score of 217. The Aggies didn’t waste Brungard’s 236 against S.C. State as they squeaked by the Bulldogs 955-947. Last season’s N.C. A&T Rookie of the Year Erica Johnson also had a game over 200. The sophomore out of Lanham, Md., bowled a team-high 236 in a Game 5 win over Norfolk State.

The Aggies return to action at home this weekend in the Aggie Invitational in Greensboro, N.C.
