GREENSBORO, November 8, 2006 -- The North Carolina A&T State University family and the North Carolina A&T Department of Intercollegiate Athletics are inviting all students and faculty from Eastern Guilford High School to attend the Aggies football game against the Elon Phoenix at Aggie Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 1:30 p.m. Admission is free for all Eastern Guilford faculty and students. Earlier this month, a fire that began in a chemistry lab destroyed the school, leaving more than 1,000 students without a school building for the rest of the year. The free admission offer into the Aggies football game against local rival Elon is the Aggies family latest effort to assists those affected by the fire. North Carolina A&T State University sponsored benefit for Eastern Guilford students, teachers and families on Monday. With the help of Guilford County School officials, instructional materials, books, letters and cards of support and cash were donated. We want to open our arms and hearts to our Eastern Guilford neighbors, said A&T Chancellor Lloyd V. Hackley. The loss of their facility touched us deeply and it is our desire to respond to their needs and make tangible expressions of care and kindness. |
