Coach Fobbs on the
turnover to end the first half
“We
turned it over. They capitalized and we didn’t. We didn’t take care of
the ball. In no phase of the ball game did we take care of the football
and they capitalized. It was just poor execution on our part.”
Coach Fobbs on how to
correct things
“We go
back to work on the practice field and continue to work. We’ve got a
ball game next week.”
Coach Fobbs on the
Spartans long third-quarter drive
“I
think we had the ball one series. It was a great drive by them. They
kept the ball away from us and really controlled the clock. That was a
big key not only because it was a long drive, but they came away with a
score. “
Coach Fobbs on the
offense
“I
don’t think it drained (our defense). Offensively, we’ve got a part to
play too. After the first quarter-and-half the offense was not there.”
Coach Fobbs on the
short week
“They
had a short week too. Then they had to travel, so no, that was not a
factor.”
Coach
Fobbs on the Aggies fast start
“Our
overall performance in the second half was poor. Our motto this year has
been to start fast and finish strong, and we didn’t do that. We came out
played well early, but we didn’t take care of the ball. And you’ve got
to take care of the football to have a chance to win.”
Running back Michael
Ferguson the new wrinkles in the Aggies offense
“We wanted to start the game fast. We came out and threw a couple of
passes and on the run play it just broke open, so we felt like we could
move the ball on them. We’re just trying to get players in position to
make plays.”
Coach Pete
Adrian on the game
“Obviously
it was a great win for us. It was our first road win in over year. I
think somebody told me it was the first time we’ve beaten A&T here in
over a year. We’ve got a young team that’s learning how to win. We’re
playing 60 minutes, we’re not worrying about the score if we fall
behind. Of course when you start to win, winning breeds winning.”
Coach Pete Adrian on
the early part of the game
“We
knew this would be a tough football game. It was a short week. We didn’t
practice in pads all week and we played like that in the first quarter.
We forgot you were supposed to tackle people. But we got that right and
our offense was outstanding during the ball game.”
