KINDLE EARNS MEAC WEEKLY HONOR

Kindle accounts for 3 TD’s Saturday

GREENSBORO, November 10, 2009 -- North Carolina A&T football went heavy toward a youth movement against Florida A&M on Saturday, and it nearly paid major dividends against the No. 3 team in black college football.

Freshman quarterback Lewis Kindle made his first career start on Saturday and threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns on 16-for-30 passing in a 31-27 loss to Florida A&M at Bragg Memorial Stadium. Lewis also rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

Kindle’s effort earned him MEAC Rookie of the Week. Kindle accounted for three of the Aggies four touchdowns. He threw both his touchdowns in the second quarter. His pass to tight end Brett Fisher was perfectly thrown ball on a seam route that pulled the Aggies to within three, 17-14.

His next TD pass, came on a curl route where receiver Terrence Whitaker fought his way to the end zone to give the Aggies a 21-17 halftime lead. Kindle had made two other appearances this season. He came in relief during the Hampton and Coastal Carolina games.
