As he enters his senior season, he is one of a number of running backs who could start this season…Cosby put together an outstanding spring to move himself into the conversation for a starting spot…Has mainly contributed to the Aggies program as a punt returner…In the spring game, however, he raced downfield for a 26-yard run….In his first season as an Aggie, the son of a former Aggie football player became the team’s chief punt returner…He is one of the smallest Aggies on the team, but his strength and determination makes him one of the coaches favorites…His size allowed him to maneuver through holes that helped the Aggies improve their field position on punt returns…Has returned 32 punts for a 9.3 per average return…JUNIOR (2008): Played in 12 games with no starts on offense…For the third straight season, he was still the Aggies No. 1 punt returner…Returned 17 punts for 142 yards…Also returned 11 kicks for 182 yards…As a running back, he carried the ball 19 times for 57 yards…Returned a punt against Winston-Salem 20 yards to give the Aggies the football at the Rams’ 46-yard line…His 28-yard kickoff return against Hampton on Sept. 20 gave the Aggies the ball at their own 46-yard line…SOPHOMORE (2007): Played in nine games with no starts for the Aggies…He was primarily used as a special teams returner…He had 15 punt returns for 156 yards for a 10.4 yard per return average which led the MEAC…He also had three kick-off returns for 47 yards…His best return of the season was a 34-yard return at Howard University…Cosby’s punt return put the ball on the Howard 31-yard line…His only other punt return of 30-yards or more came against Hampton on Sept. 15…It put the ball on the Hampton 21-yard line, but an Aggies penalty hurt the drive…SENECA VALLEY: Played three varsity seasons under head coaches Terry Chonguris and Fred Kim…Rushed for 1,413 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior…For his efforts, he earned second-team all-county honors…He was also named honorable mention all-state and all-metropolitan…As a sophomore, he helped Seneca Valley win the state 3A championship from the fullback position…PERSONAL: Full name is Quintin Cosby…He is the son of Brenda and Marc Cosby…Father also played football at N.C. A&T…He has three siblings, Marquita, Ivyn and Terrell…He is a sports science major who plans to coach football after graduation… He was born March 17, 1987…He has four teammates from his high school team playing Division I football, Andre Smith (Virginia Tech), Jordan Brooks (Rutgers), Donald Langley (Tennessee) and Fred Branch (Buffalo)…He says his friends who got into trouble back home were his biggest influences because every time they did wrong, it inspired him to work harder so he wouldn’t become just another guy hanging out on the street.
