N.C. A&T fans and coaches are excited about his potential…Coaches admire his quick release once the ball is snapped and his tremendous size, speed and agility…He gives the Aggies a player who is fast enough to be a deep threat and big enough to be a possession receiver...Didn’t figure much into the offensive game plan as a freshman, but should see his role increased in 2009...FRESHMAN (2008): Played in eight games with one start…Made three receptions on the season for 36 yards and no touchdowns…Made his first career catch at Delaware State on Oct. 18…Made a crucial 10-yard reception on 4th-and-6 from the Howard 23-yard line in the fourth quarter…The catch gave the Aggies a first down, and eventually led to the winning touchdown by Michael Ferguson…PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP HIGH: Played two seasons under John Rosnick...Was a two-time all-conference performer and was team captain for two seasons...Finished high school with a better-than 3.0 GPA...PERSONAL: Full name is Derek Gould...He is the son of Malicia Showers and Hayward Reeder...Has one sibling, Corey...Was born on Nov. 18, 1989...Plans to be a New Jersey state trooper after graduation...Enjoys cooking, watching television, helping in the community and playing video games...Calls his parents before every game...Says football runs in his family, therefore, he felt destined to play college football although he is humble about his experience.
