Houston File: Became the Aggies primary place kicker in 2007 after winning the job from Elliott Simmonds…At press time, he did not have any direct competition, but the Aggie coaches haven’t ruled out given him some…He struggled at times during the season, but he did show the kind of potential that could make him a valuable weapon for head coach Lee Fobbs in 2008…He showed the ability to hit field goals out as far as 40 yards during the season…FRESHMAN (2007): He made appearances in 10 games…He made 5 of 12 field goals during the season for a 41.7 percentage…He hit 17 of his 18 extra points with his only miss coming against Bethune-Cookman on Oct. 27…He led the Aggies in scoring with 32 points…His longest field goal of the season was a 39-yarder against N.C. Central on Sept. 22…The field goal pulled the Aggies within five in the fourth quarter to give the Aggies a chance to win the game…Helped the Aggies rally from a 20-0 deficit against Bethune-Cookman by hitting two fields in a comeback that eventually saw the Aggies take the lead before losing to the Wildcats late…SOUTHWEST DELAKB: Played three varsity seasons under head coach Buck Godfrey…He also played basketball and soccer…He was an honor roll student during his time there…PERSONAL: Full name is Eric Houston…He is the son of Hermie and Walter Houston…He has one sibling, Alicia…He was born Oct. 31, 1988…After graduation he wants to own his a car shop. |
