Long completed an outstanding freshman campaign that saw him earn the team’s Rookie of the Year honor…Earned valuable playing time his rookie season, where he played corner and returned kicks for the Aggies… Was a member of the Aggies Signing Day class in 2008…Showed outstanding footwork during the season and appeared to have an appetite for being around the football…FRESHMAN (2008): Played in 11 games with six starts last season…Made 36 tackles and broke up five passes…Twenty-five of Long’s tackles were solo stops…In his debut as a player, made six tackles against Winston-Salem State on Sept. 6…Returned a kickoff 83 yards against N.C. Central on Oct. 4 to set up a 22-yard fi ld goal by Eric Houston…Made eight tackles, broke up three passes and forced a game-winning fumble with just 46 seconds remaining in the game to help the Aggies defeat Howard 21-20 on Oct. 25…For his effort, he was named MEAC Rookie of the Week… WEST CHARLOTTE HIGH: Played four varsity seasons under Pete Gilchrist and Maurice Flowers...Named to the Charlotte Observer’s first team...Was also named to the All-Mecklenburg County team...Had nine career interceptions, returned two of them for touchdowns and had three punt returns for touchdowns...Finished in the top 25 of his class...PERSONAL: Full name is Quintero Le-Quay Long...He is the son of Felecia and Levon Long... He has two siblings, Vontrae and Brandon...He was born on Jan. 7, 1990...He is a journalism and mass communications major...Chose N.C. A&T because it gave him a chance to help rebuild the Aggies program while playing close to home.
