McNair File: McNair has served as a backup running back for the Aggies over the last two seasons…He provides the Aggies with another power runner reminiscent of starter Michael Ferguson… He is also an excellent goal line runner and short yardage back… He has also served as an excellent special teams player for the Aggies…Saw his carries cut short last season thanks to the emergence of David Robinson…Position coach George Ragsdale still likes his ability to hit the holes and his explosiveness through the hole…In 19 career games played, he has 57 career carries for 126 yards and two touchdowns…He also has three career receptions for 31 yards and touchdown…He also has returned nine kicks during his career…SOPHOMORE (2007): Played in eight games with no starts He carried the ball 23 times for 44 yards and two touchdowns…He scored his first career touchdown on Sept. 22 against N.C. Central when he took a hand off from Herb Miller and scored on a 1-yard touchdown on a 3rd-and-goal…His other touchdown on the season came on a 1st-and-goal from the 1-yard line against Norfolk State on Sept. 27 in a nationally-televised game on ESPNU…The touchdown gave the Aggies an early 7-0 lead… FRESHMAN (2006): Played in 10 games with one start…Took the first carry of the game against Bethune-Cookman on Oct. 26…Rushed for 82 yards on 34 carries…Also made three receptions for 31 yards…Made a tough catch against Norfolk State in which he reached behind him to bring the ball in for a 13-yard gain and a first down…Had his longest run of the season against Florida A&M, in which he ran off-tackle to gain 11 yards, earning the Aggies a first down...RANDLEMAN HIGH: Played four varsity seasons under Eddie Williamson...Named to the all-conference twice...Also named all-county...Earned team MVP honors as a senior...Was also named a N.C. scholar...PERSONAL: Full name is Dione McNair...He is the son of Lynn and Deneal McNair...Has two siblings, Kalynn and Tavin...Was born on Jane 19, 1987...He is a sports science major. |
