Central by throwing for 127 yards on 9-for-13 passing… FRESHMAN (2006): Made his first career start against on Sept. 2 against Winston-Salem State…Threw for 83 yards in the game on 7-for-12 passing, including a 28-yard completion to Michael Caldwell…Also rushed for 21 yards in the game on five carries…Shared the quarterback position most of the season with Wayne Campbell…Had his best outing of the season against Hampton on Sept. 16…Was 10-for-16 in the game for 93 yards passing and also rushed for 67 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries…Made one costly mistake toward the end of the first half in which he threw an interception that led to Hampton putting the ball deep in Aggies territory…Before that point, he had the Aggies competing against the nationally-ranked Pirates…Was injured against Howard on Oct. 21 after scrambling out of the pocket and running 11 yards down the field before taking on Bison defenders head on…The end result was Miller taking a shot to his knee, which tore his anterior cruciate ligament…Had off-season surgery and was ready for spring practice in March…Threw for 236 yards on 26-for-50 passing and two touchdowns…Also rushed for 138 yards on 53 carries with two touchdowns…CARVER HIGH: He played three varsity seasons under head coach Keith Wilkes…He led Carver to the 2002 3A state championship…He left Carver as the school’s all-time leader in passing…He also played basketball, baseball and participated in track and field…His 800 meter relay team were state runner-ups in 2003 and 2005...PERSONAL: Full name is Herbert Miller III…He is the son of Chevelle Thomas and Herbert Miller, Jr…He has six siblings, Wilbert, Brendon, Reginald, Maliek, Christine, Maliki and Faith…He was born July 16, 1987…He is a marketing major who plans to be working in the field after graduation…Former Winston-Salem State standout quarterback Tory Woodbury is the biggest influence in his life because he taught him lessons that got him into college…He knew he had what it took to play college football when his mother and grandfather told him they weren’t paying for college.
