Ruffin File: Has been a key part of the Aggies secondary for the past three seasons…Has played both safety positions during his career…He is one of only the only three-year starter on the Aggies current roster…This season he will have a stiff challenge from Brandon Colbert to start at the strong safety position…He comes into the fall camp No. 2 on the depth chart at the position…With his experience, however, he should have no problem finding a role on the 2008 team…The coaching staff likes the effort he makes on the field and practice and his play on special teams…He has played in 24 games for the Aggies and made 17 starts…He has 92 career tackles with five of those tackles coming behind the line of scrimmage…JUNIOR (2007): He played in 11 games with 11 starts…He made a career-high 55 tackles with a career high 4 ½ tackles for loss…He made nine tackles and broke up a pass against Prairie View A&M on Sept. 8…In the third quarter of the game, he broke up a pass to force a Panthers punt and he made a stop behind the line of scrimmage…He made nine stops against Norfolk State on Sept. 27…Seven of those tackles were solo…In the second quarter of the game, he forced a fumble at the Spartans 22-yard line that eventually led to an Aggies touchdown…Also, in the second quarter he recorded the first full sack of his career…Recorded seven tackles against Bethune-Cookman on Oct. 27…Three of those tackles came at or near the line of scrimmage… SOPHOMORE (2006): Played in five games last with three starts…Opened the season with an outstanding game against Winston-Salem State on Sept. 1…Made nine tackles and wrapped up Winston-Salem State running back Tionti Powell for a 2-yard loss…After the Rams game, however, missed six games because of an illness…Did not return to the lineup until Oct. 26 against Bethune-Cookman…His return yielded four solo tackles and five total stops…Stopped S.C. State running back DeShawn Baker in the backfield twice on Nov. 18…Recorded 27 tackles on the season with 12 coming on the solo end.
