After playing in the secondary for two seasons, coaches are looking forward to big things from White this season…White heads into camp as the No. 1 strong safety on the depth chart…Came to N.C. A&T listed as an athlete with the potential to help the Aggies in a number of ways…Coaches chose to initially play him at wide receiver, but the decision was later made to move him to the safety position…A strong 2009 spring has moved him into the starting lineup for now…Came into camp last season as the top player at the free safety position...Position coach Travis Oliver sees him as a player who has big-play potential…In 18 games, he has made 2 tackles and recovered two fumbles…REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2008): Played in 11 games with nine starts…Made 20 tackles with one pass breakup…Made a career-high seven tackles with a half tackle behind the line of scrimmage against Hampton on Sept. 20…Made three solo tackles against Delaware State on Oct. 18 …REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE (2007): Played in seven games without a start…Made five tackles and recovered a fumble during the season…Earned more playing time toward the end of the season…Had the best showing of the season on Nov. 3 when he recorded two tackles against Florida A&M…He recovered a fumble at Howard on Oct. 20…REDSHIRT FRESHMAN (2006): Played sparingly as a wide receiver for the Aggies… FRESHMAN (2005): Redshirted as a freshman… TC ROBERSON HIGH: Played three varsity seasons under Mike Houston...Had more than 2,000 all-purpose yards during his career...Named the team MVP as a junior and a senior...Also rushed for more than 1,300 yards over his junior and senior seasons...Those yards resulted in 28 touchdowns...Also had 400 receiving yards...On the defensive end, recorded 155 tackles and intercepted 11 passes over two seasons...PERSONAL: Full name is Vernon Julian White II...He is the son of Michelle Henly and Vernon White, Sr...He has two siblings, April and Ebony...He was born on June 12, 1987...He is a sports science and fitness management major...Wants to work as a physical therapist after graduation.
