Coach Eaves on Austin Ewing and Steven Rush’s
shooting
“Thank God Steven Rush and Austin Ewing’s shot is starting to come back.
I think that’s the first piece because we’ve been missing that for a
longtime. I think that Trahern Chaplin, Nick Wilson, Angelo Hernandez
and Ed Jones will continue to produce more as Steve, Austin and Jason
Wills start to hit shots. It will take some of that pressure off of
them.”
Coach Eaves on the Aggies missing layups
”I think the layups we’ve missed the last two games is a result of our
scheduling. I think I scheduled a little too tough to where my kids are
making our MEAC opponents Washington State and Tennessee. I’ll take
responsibility for that. But I think as time goes on, they’ll start to
finish those layups around the basket.”
Coach Eaves on what he expects from his
forwards and swing players as the season goes on
“They will rebound the ball. They will be stronger with the ball. We
won’t let people take it from us. We’ll get it out, start the break and
shoot layups on people. We will truly start to flourish. Right now, it
is the residue of that schedule that is hurting us.”
Coach Eaves on Saturday night’s game
“It was a great win. We’re 2-2 in the conference with another tough road
game at (Delaware State) coming up. We’re coming along, we’ve just got
keep getting better. I think toward the end of the year our confidence
as a team will comeback and we will start to flourish. I put a lot on
them by playing the No. 1 non-conference schedule in the country.”
