N.C. A&T men vs. WSSU postgame notes

·          North Carolina A&T’s win over Winston-Salem State was its first in 10 years. But it was the Aggies fourth straight victory over the Rams. The last time Winston-Salem State defeated the Aggies was in 1995, a 74-65 Rams win.

·          The Aggies have won four straight games. If the Aggies win on Monday they will be in the midst of their longest winning streak in eight seasons. A win will also put the Aggies over .500 this late in the season since they were over .500 during the 2000-2001 season.

·          North Carolina A&T men’s basketball coach has defeated every team in the MEAC except his opponent on Monday, the S.C. State Bulldogs. Eaves is 0-6 against the Bulldogs and have lost those games by an average 10.5 points, including an overtime loss during the 2005-2006 season.

·          Aggies freshman center Thomas Coleman has had at least one block in his last five games. Over that span Coleman has averaged 4.2 blocks.

·          Steven Rush passed Tarik Beasley on the all-time 3-pointers made list on Saturday and is now third behind only Philip Allen (202) and Carlton Becton (209) on the all-time list. Rush has 166 career 3-pointers and needs 44 to break the school record. The Aggies are 4-0 when Rush scores 20 points or more this season.

·          Jason Wills recorded five assists on Saturday. The senior out of Upper Marlboro, Md., leads the team in assists and rebounds. He now has 183 career assists, putting him 17 assists shy of becoming the first Aggie to record more than 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists in a career.

·          Lamona Smalley’s work on the boards lately has been tremendous. Smalley has done a lot of her damage on the boards on the offensive end. Smalley grabbed six offensive boards Saturday and is averaging 4.2 offensive boards over her last five games.

·          The Aggies shot 40 percent from the floor Saturday afternoon as opposed to Winston-Salem State’s 32.8 shooting percentage. The Aggies are 9-0 on the season when they have a better shooting percentage than their opponent.
