As an Aggie
Will
come into the season with a chance to go down as one of the best
rebounders and scorers in the history of the program…He earned
second-team All-MEAC honors in 2006-2007…Was a first-team All-MEAC
preseason pick before the 2006-2007 season and was a preseason
second-team pick prior to the 2007-2008 season…Has been excellent
building block for N.C. A&T head men’s basketball coach Jerry Eaves by
providing him with a scorer, passer and rebounder…Has the ability to put
the ball on the floor and draw fouls and has brought the ball up the
floor on different occasions during his career…Can play and will likely
play all five positions this season…Needs just 78 points to become the
20th Aggie in school history to score 1,000 points….Will also
likely become just the fifth Aggie in history to record more than 1,000
points and 500 rebounds in a career, joining Joe Binion, Claude
Williams, Elmer Austin and Bruce Jenkins…With another excellent season,
he could be the first Aggie player ever to score more than 1,000 points,
grab more than 500 rebounds and dish out more than 200 assists…Comes
into the season ranked 11th all-time in Aggie history in
rebounding with 473…Has led the Aggies in free throws made per game and
free throws attempted per game the last two seasons…Broke Joe Binion’s
24-year old record for free throws attempted in a season with 229 in
2006-2007…The record was 217…Has played in 75 games with 40 starts in
his career…Has career averages of 12.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8
assists per game…Has shot .533 from the field and .633 from the free
throw line in his career…Has scored in double figures 50 times in his
career, has scored 20 or more points 11 times and has nine career
double-doubles…He has led the Aggies in scoring 20 times, in rebounding
39 times and in assists 22 times…Missed almost half of his freshman
season for personal reasons…When he did return to the court on a
full-time basis, showed the kind of promise that could make him a
special player at N.C. A&T.
2006-2007: Played in 30 games with 15 starts…Named second-team All-MEAC after the season…Scored in double figures in 25 out of the 30 games he played…Scored 20 or more points four times…Scored in double figures in 14 straight games between Nov. 28 and Jan. 22…Played 30 or minutes in seven games…Led the Aggies in scoring eight times, in rebounding 19 times and in assists 10 times…Averaged 13.9 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game…His 71 assists were the most he has ever had in a season…Led the Aggies in rebounding and was second on the team in scoring…Ranked 13th in the conference in scoring, fourth in rebounding, sixth in field goal percentage (.511), 10th in assists, 11th in steals and third in defensive rebounds (4.9)…Had a season-high 21 points on 8-for-12 shooting in a loss at Howard on Feb. 5…Two days earlier he had 20 points on 8-for-9 shooting and added eight rebounds in a win at Maryland-Eastern Shore…Recorded his first double-double of the season in the first game of the season when he had 17 points and 10 rebounds against Missouri on Nov. 10…Had another double-double against a team from a major conference when he posted 17 points and 11 rebounds in a near upset of Arizona State on Dec. 21…Had 13 points and eight rebounds, including a dunk when he leaped over a Longwood player for the two points in a win on Nov. 28…Had 13 points, 14 rebounds and four assists in a win over Morgan State on Feb. 19…Five nights later he scored 20 points and 13 rebounds on 14-for-18 shooting from the free throw line in a double overtime win at Norfolk State.
2005-2006: Played in 29 games with 25 starts…Scored in double figures 23 out of 29 games played…Scored in double figures in every game between Jan. 28 to March 3, a string of 11 straight games…Played 30 minutes or more 19 times…Led the Aggies in scoring, rebounding and field goal percentage by averaging 14.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and shooting .485 from the floor…Also led the Aggies in minutes played per game at 31.2…Was second on the team in assists at 2.0 per game…Averaged 15.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, while shooting an impressive .550 from the field in 10 games played at Corbett Sports Center…In four straight home games between Jan. 14 and Jan. 23, scored 48 of his 63 points during that span in the second half…The Aggies won three out of those four games…Scored a career-high 31 points and 11 rebounds in 34 minutes on 10-for-17 shooting from the floor and 11-for-15 shooting from the free throw line on Jan. 30 at Hampton…Followed that performance with 27-point outburst on 12-for-19 shooting from the floor at Longwood on Feb. 2…Recorded his first career double-double with a 14-point, 11-rebound performance at Campbell on Dec. 14…Scored 20 points on 12-for-14 shooting from the free throw line, including two crucial free throws with four seconds remaining to lead N.C. A&T to a 69-67 win over Bethune-Cookman in a nationally televised game on ESPN2 on Jan. 16 (Martin Luther King, Jr., Day)…Posted 14 points and nine rebounds on 5-for-9 shooting in a win over Hampton on Feb. 27…Scored 21 points and had 10 rebounds in a loss to Howard in the MEAC Tournament on March 7.
2004-2005: Played in 16 games and averaged 5.0 points and 3.5 rebounds in 15.3minutes per game…Played in just five games before the start of the New Year…Missed 12 games from Dec. 11-Jan. 29….Averaged 6.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and shot .619 over the final 11 games of the season…Shot .571 from the field for the season…Scored in double figures three times and led the Aggies in rebounding four times…Scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 67-63 win at Howard on Jan. 21 that snapped a 31-game road losing streak for the Aggies…Scored 15 points on 7-for-11 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds in a loss to Florida A&M on Feb. 26…Had 10 points and six rebounds in a 63-60 win over Bethune-Cookman at Corbett Sports Center on Feb. 28.
High School Career: Played at one of the most prestigious high schools in the country, St. John's College High School…Started out at Landon High before transferring to Prospect Hall for academic and athletic reasons…Averaged 20.0 points as a senior…Named Honorable Mention all-conference his junior and senior seasons…Elected WCAC All-Star as a senior.
