Dial pitches both games of the roundup

The Aggies lost their first game of the day, 5-0 to Delaware State. After two days and four games of competition, the Aggies are 19-26 overall and 5-5 in the MEAC. Lillian Bullock, who came into the game 3-for-18 with runners on base in her last 11 games, came up with two hits and registered two RBI against Coppin State. Britney Reddick and Jessica Cooper also had two RBI. The Aggies registered eight of their nine hits in the game in the fourth and fifth innings. Until that point, The Aggies had registered just five runs over the first three games of the roundup. The Aggies started their offensive resurrection in the fourth. With the Aggies leading 2-1, Sylvia Felder led off the fourth with a single. After a groundout, Adia Dial singled down the left field line to put runners and third and first. Jessie Larson’s grounder to second, scored Felder from third to give the Aggies the lead for good. Tangala Conover loaded the bases with a single, to set up an RBI opportunity for Bullock. This time, Bullock responded with a single to left field, scoring Dial for a 4-1 lead. Conover scored on a wild pitch, followed with a walk. From there, the Aggies would take advantage or more walks given up by the Eagles. Britney Reddick and Channing Statham walked to load the bases as Bullock advanced to third. Jessica Cooper followed with a bases loaded walk that forced in Bullock. In the fifth, the Aggies put the Coppin State away by invoking the 8-run rule. Reddick came through with the big hit as she ripped a two-run RBI single through the right side to score Conover and Dial to assure only a five inning game. Adia Dial earned the win and improved to 6-11 on the season. In the first game, the Aggies managed only two hits as they were shutout for the second straight game. Dial also pitched the first game, but took the loss. Chaola Simmons had the only two hits of the ball game for the Aggies. The Aggies conclude the roundup with games against Morgan State and Maryland-Eastern Shore. |
