GREENSBORO, March 27, 2007 – The North Carolina A&T had its six-game winning streak come to an end with two losses to UNC-Greensboro Tuesday afternoon at the Lady Aggies Softball Complex.

The cross-town rivals defeated the Aggies 4-0 and 15-0 to drop the Aggies to 16-19 overall. The Aggies were without ace Sasha Philpot who became sick before the game.

Adia Dial pitched well as the Aggies No. 1 starter, however, but did not have any offensive support as the Aggies managed just two hits in the first game.

UNC-G starter Vanessa Oakes pitched a complete-game and struck out eight batters in the process. The Spartans scored one run in each of the first two innings. The Spartans added to their 2-0 lead in the fifth when an error allowed Oakes to score.

Lyndsey Wilson, who had a combined seven RBI on the day, homered in the seventh to seal things for the Spartans. In game two, Wilson hit a grand slam for the Spartans.

Channing Statham took the loss in Game 2, but Britney Reddick had two hits in the second game.

The Aggies are back in action on Sunday when they face S.C. State in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. Winthrop comes to town on Wednesday to play the Aggies in a 3 p.m. doubleheader.
