Luper recorded her first career shutout

GREENSBORO, April 4, 2008 – Jennifer Luper is headed into a realm no other North Carolina A&T softball player has ever been before. Now, the recognitions are starting to roll in. Luper was named MEAC Rookie of the Week for the week of March 24-30.

Luper earned the honor despite a tough-luck loss to UNC Greensboro on March 26. She pitched six innings against the Spartans and surrendered just two runs, one on a solo homer and the other on a RBI double. Luper returned three days later to earn her first career shutout as she pitched complete-game, one-hitter for a 4-0 Aggies win.

Luper is 8-3 on the season and got off to a 6-0 start to begin her career. She has now positioned herself as the Aggies No. 1 pitcher, giving the Aggies a second-team All-MEAC selection in the No. 2 spot and an upcoming star in the ace role.
