N.C. A&T CAREER: Returns for her senior season as one of the team’s best contact hitters…Made tremendous strides as an offensive threat for Mamie Jones’ N.C. A&T team…Has pitched and played third base over the first three years of her career...Is a career .270 hitter in 145 games played as an Aggie….Has stolen 20 bases in 24 attempts…Has recorded 124 career strikeouts in 282.0 innings pitched…Has recorded 10 career victories on the mound with three career shutouts, including one no hitter in 52 career starts…Has started 89 straight games and has started 142 out of the 145 games she has played in an Aggies uniform…Is a strong student in the classroom…Named to the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association All-Academic team…Has been on N.C. A&T’s honor roll for five semesters…She is also a National Nurses Scholar.
2006:
Batted better than .400 over the first 34 games of the season…Ended the
season batting a career-high .349 batting average…Also recorded career highs
in doubles (3), triples (4), hits (59), runs scored (22) and RBI (22)…She
led the team in batting average, hits (58), runs scored (22), on-base
percentage (.376) and total bases (69) …Ranked sixth in the conference last
season in runs scored…Had more hits in 2006 than she had in her first two
seasons combined at N.C. A&T…Improved her batting average from 2005 to 2006
by more than 100 points…Batted an impressive .379 at the Aggies home field,
the Lady Aggies Softball Complex… Had at least one hit in 13 out of her
first 15 games last season…Had 21 hits in her first 50 at bats last season
for a .420 batting average….When she had the opportunity to lead off an
inning, she was 17-for-39 (.436)…Hit .340 with runners in scoring position
and .667 with a runner on third and less than two outs…Was 50-for-89 when
given a chance to advance a runner (.562), which led the team…On the mound,
Made 23 starts and went 4-15 with a 61 walks, a career-high 63 strikeouts
and a 6.26 ERA in 123.0 innings pitched...Had 18 multiple hit games,
including four games in which she had three hits…Had three hits, scored two
runs and a RBI against Elon on March 4…A day later against the Phoenix, she
went 3-for-4 with a RBI…Was 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI in a win
against eventual conference champion Florida A&M on March 31…Had two hits
against Bethune-Cookman at the Lady Aggies Softball Complex on April 5 as
the Aggies defeated the Wildcats for the first time since 1997…Was 3-for-3
against Western Carolina at home on April 13…Went 2-for-4 with a career-high
three RBI on April 29 in a crucial win over S.C. State...On the mound,
pitched five innings, gave up one run and struckout seven in a win over
Savannah State (7-1)…Pitched four innings and struckout four in a win over
Maryland-Eastern Shore in the Elon Tournament on March 4. 2004: Appeared in 48 games and made 46 starts…Made 22 appearances as a pitcher, including 13 starts…Registered 25 hits in 129 at bats (.190)…Added one double and one triple on the season…As a pitcher, went 2-8 with a 7.17 ERA with one save in 72.0 innings pitched….Allowed 105 runs, 73 of them earned and struck out 27 batters…Logged in 28 total bases and scored 14 runs…Batted 3-for-8 with two runs scored in two games against Appalachian St. February 24…Went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple at S.C. State on March 9…Batted 2-for-4 with a run scored versus Ohio State on March 12…Went 3-for-3 with two runs at UNC-Wilmington on March 17…Batted 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored vs. Belmont (Apr. 2)…Pitched 3.2 innings of relief, allowing two hits in a 2-0 win over Monmouth on March 7…Pitched 5.0 innings of relief, allowing 3 hits and 1 run in a 6-4 win over Norfolk State (Mar. 19). HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Attended two high schools: Notre Dame and J.W. North under coaches Rocky Bustos and Donald Phelps respectively….Lettered in volleyball during her junior and senior seasons at North High…. Also lettered in basketball…Was a first-team all-conference selection all four years…Named all-county following her senior season…Won MVP honors for three consecutive seasons…Lettered in volleyball, where she was named team co-captain and comeback player of the year after recovering from injury…Listed on the school High Honor Roll all four years….Graduated from North with honors and was a National Junior Honor Society member.
