The North Carolina A&T swim team competed in its first Coastal
Collegiate Swimming Association meet and saw sophomore Vinetae Wynn
take home three first-place finishes in a 108-80 loss to Radford at
Dedmon Center Natatorium. The Aggies are 0-1 in the conference and 0-1
overall.
Wynn scored 27 points for the Aggies by finishing first in the 200-yard
medley relay, the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. Senior
Gia Wright also had a good day for the Aggies. She scored 22 points for
the Aggies with two first-place finishes and one second-place finish.
Wynn along with Wright, Donielle Campbell and Jewel
Wright finished with a time of 1:56.96 in the 200-yard medley relay.
Wynn finished the 50-yard free in 25.70 to finish in first. Chymere
Hayes came in fourth in the same event. Wynn’s 1:08.23 in the 100-yard
backstroke to finish almost a full second ahead of Radford’s Mandy
Smith.
Wright, a senior out of
Sunrise,
Fla., took first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.28.
Wright placed second in the 200-yard free with a time of 2:05.88. The
200-yard medley relay was not the only relay winner for the Aggies.
Signe Waldbauer, Tabia Clinksclaes, Aasyia Townsel and
Czamille Wright took first place in the 200-yard free relay.
The Aggies return to action on Nov. 15 when they compete against North
Florida in their first home meet of the season at
6 p.m.
