DAVIDSON, October 24, 2008 – The North Carolina A&T swimming team opened the 2008-09 season with a loss to Davidson 86-58 in CCSA competition Friday night at Cannon Natatorium.

The Aggie newcomers had superb showings in their first-ever collegiate meet. Freshman Jasmine Gurley had a first-place finish in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 31.90. Junior Charlisse Rivers, a newcomer out of Charlotte, finished second in the same event with a time of 42.97.

 Sophomore Karla Chapman continued the Aggies success in the sprinter events. Chapman had a first-place in the 50-yard breaststroke. Senior Donielle Campbell, a key veteran for the Aggies, came in first in the 50-yard butterfly.

 The Aggies are back in action Saturday when they head to Shelby, N.C., to participate in a dual meet with Gardner-Webb and VMI.
