AGGIES FALL TO FLAMES

LYNCHBURG, Va., February 3, 2007 – Despite losing to Liberty on Saturday 7-0, first-year North Carolina A&T women’s tennis coach Andy Smith was pleased with what he saw from his team. The Aggies were shutout for the third time this season, but Smith saw some things hadn’t seen this season.

“The match was very good for us,’’ said Smith. “We lost a lot of matches, love-love, but through the hard work in practice I’ve seen some progress. I know the score doesn’t indicate that, but we’re improving.”

The Aggies had their best showing in doubles all season. The team of Jaymee Jones and Christina Ruffin played hard at No. 1 doubles before losing to Jonita Randolph and Martyna Hanusz.
