GREENSBORO, February 9, 2009 – Senior Destiny Williams won a third set tiebreaker over N.C. Central’s Ashley McRae Monday afternoon at the Aggie Tennis Complex to lead the North Carolina A&T women’s tennis team to a 5-2 win.

Williams split 6-1 decisions with McRae over the first two sets. Williams then took charge in the tiebreaker by defeating McRae 10-1 to help the Aggies clinched the Aggies (1-4) first victory of the season. The Aggies were also spurred on by winning the doubles point.

The Eagles’ Kathy Chorna and Ashley Rogers defeated the team of Azeib Nigatu and Shondra Redfern 8-7 in a tiebreaker match. The Aggies evened the score with a win in No. 2 doubles by Nina Henry and Jaymee Jones.

The Aggies secured the doubles point when the Eagles defaulted during No. 3 doubles. In singles competition, the Aggies also received points from Winnie Quick, Henry and McCaskill. Williams, Quick Henry and McCaskill all earned their first victories of the season.
