Aggies youth compete in Chapel Hill

CHAPEL HILL, September 15, 2008 North Carolina A&T freshman cross country runner Danzeto Cephas ran a 27:52.45 at the 8K University of North Carolina Invitational to earn a 10th place finish. As a team, the Aggies finished with 110 points behind UNC (15), Campbell (77), Milligan (80) and Wake Forest (92).

Vincent Alford finished 13th with a time of 28:15.78. The other Aggie runners included Travanni Jett (28th), Charles Rogers (29th), Renaldo Walters (30th) and Jejon Statom (37:01.1).

On the women’s side, Janee Cadlett was the top Aggie runner with a time of 25:31.00. She did not place because the meet was based on head-to-head competition against the other schools at the meet. Among the schools the Aggies faced were UNC, Milligan College, Campbell University and Wake Forest.

Jessica Rogers was the next fastest Aggie runner with a time of 28:19.0. Christina Gray finished a second behind her at 28:20, while Loreal Smith came in a second behind Gray at 28:21. Carmenta Mitchell also ran a 28:21.
