BUIES CREEK – The North Carolina A&T cross country teams opened the season at the Campbell University Cross Country Carnival on Friday. The men’s team had losses to Campbell and UNC Wilmington. The Fighting Camels defeated the Aggies 38-17, while the Seahawks earned a 40-15 win over N.C. A&T.

On the women’s side, the Aggies lost to East Carolina 15-6 and to Campbell 15-6. The ladies were led by Janessa Benn who finished in 15^th place with a time of 39:35.9. Teammate Kristin Rush finished one place behind Benn with a time of 40:22.9.

Steve Liggins had the highest finish for the men. Liggins finished 22^nd with a time of 13:58.1. The Aggies will be back in action next week when they travel to Elon, N.C., to compete in the Elon Invitational.
