RALEIGH, September 14, 2007 – Sophomore Rashad Burnett continued to take strides in what looks like a promising track career at North Carolina A&T. Burnett finished 11^th in the Raleigh Cross Country Invitational to help the Aggie men to a fourth-place finish behind N.C. State, Wake Forest and East Carolina respectively.

The women placed eighth at the invitational.

Burnett finished the 5,000 meter race in 16:28, which was 38 seconds better than the time he posted in the same race a year ago when he finished 16^th. Burnett has been the Aggies top finisher in six straight races dating back to last season.

Burnett received help from teammates sophomore Kavaughn Brown and junior Reggie McAfee. Brown and McAfee finished 24^th and 25^th respectively.

In the women’s race, sophomore Janee Cadlett was the top finisher in the 36^th, followed by junior Tarell Taylor and (55^th) and junior Christina Gray (61^st).

The Aggie men’s and women’s cross country teams return to action next Saturday when they complete at the Guilford College Old North State Championship at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro at 9 a.m.
