BURNETT FINISHES SECOND AT INVITATIONAL

GREENSBORO, September 30, 2006 Rashad Burnett is quickly making North Carolina A&T a factor in cross country. The sophomore out of Henderson, N.C., finished second at the Greensboro Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Hagan Stone Park with a time of 27:06.1, his best time of the season.

Burnett is coming off of a sixth place finish the week before at the Guilford College Invitational. The Aggie men finished fourth at Greensboro Cross Country Invitational with a score of 174. The Aggies finished higher than any other Division I college at the event.

Freshman Kavaugh Brown also finished in the top 20 with a time of 28:10, while Junior Reggie McAfee and sophomore Jesse Fox finished in the top 50 with placements of 26th and 48th respectively.

On the women’s side, N.C. A&T placed ninth with a score of 278. Junior Inez Turner had the best finish for the Aggies by coming in seventh place with a time of 19:26.8. Freshman Janee Cadet also had a top finish 50 as she came in ninth.

The Aggies are back in action on Oct. 7 when they compete at Hagan Stone Park.
