A&T Highlights
Smith had
a superb first season as an Aggie…She began what could be a legendary
career for the women’s North Carolina A&T track and field programs…She
won the MEAC Outdoor long jump championship with a leap of 20-feet, 2 ½
inches…She placed third in the triple jump at the MEAC Outdoor
Championships with a best jump of 39-feet, 8 ¾ inches…Her outdoor season
also included a trip to the NCAA regionals where she finished 11th
… During the outdoor season, she placed second in the 49ers
Invitational in the long jump with a leap of 18-feet, 6-inches…At the
Wake Forest Open, she placed second in the triple jump with a jump of
40-feet, 11 1/2- inches and third in the long jump with a leap of
19-feet, 3 ½ inches…She finished fourth at the long jump at the
International Friendship and Freedom Games at Irwin Belk Track…During
the indoor season, she won her first collegiate event when she placed
first at the Liberty 4-Way meet with a jump of 19-feet, 6-inches…At the
Liberty Invitational, she placed second in the triple jump with a jump
of 38-feet, 9 ½ inches…At the same invitational, she placed fourth in
the long jump with a best jump of 18-feet, 5-inches…She placed third in
the triple jump at the UNC Fast Times with a jump of 39-feet, 7 ½
inches…At the UNC Invite, she placed third in the long jump and fourth
in the triple jump.

in high school at Montay Bay in Jamaica…As a senior, she won the long
jump in her region…Also placed second at the Penn Relays in the triple
jump…She was a four-year honors student.
