JOHNSON CITY, TENN., January 23, 2006 -- Justin Byron finished second in the 200 meters and third in the 60 meters in men's indoor track action at the Niswonger Invitational at East Tennessee State. Bryon, the 2005 MEAC Indoor Champion in the 200 meters, finished with a time of 21.32. The runner who finished ahead of Bryon was unattached. He also finished third in the 60 meter dash with a time of 6.79. On the women's side, Kendra Newton posted a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.81 seconds. On Friday, Newton posted a qualifying time of 8.90 in the 60 meter hurdles. Teammate Brittany Dixson faired well in a field event. She finished seventh in the long with a best jump of 18 feet, 1 1/2 inches. Jimmy Fields and Dominique Cam also had impressive showings for the men. The two Aggies finished tied for third in the men's high jump with a 6-08.00 leap. The Aggies are back in action this weekend when they had to Penn State to compete in the Penn State National Invitational.
