WOODALL, MILES ADDED TO TRAINING STAFF

            Greensboro, N.C., August 4, 2005 -- N.C. A&T Athletics Director DeLores “Dee” Todd announced the hirting of Robert Woodall as North Carolina A&T State University’s head athletic trainer, and R.J. Miles as assistant athletic trainer. Woodall will be responsible for overseeing the wellness of more than 350 student-athletes. He will work with athletes on the prevention, rehabilitation and evaluation of injuries with his two assistance and student trainers.

            Woodall brings to N.C. A&T a wealth of collegiate experience as a trainer. Woodall, a 2000 graduate of Florida State in the field of nutrition and fitness, served his most recent stint as an athletics trainer with Averett University in Danville, Va. Woodall oversaw the care of Averett’s volleyball, men’s basketball and baseball athletes. In addition, he served as an approved clinical instructor within the accredited athletic training program of the university.

            Before arriving at Averett in August of 2004, Woodall spent 3 ½ years at neighboring Guilford College as the assistant athletic trainer and rehabilitation coordinator. There his duties included caring for the Quakers football, women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse programs.

Woodall worked directly with team physicians in pre-participation screenings, in-season evaluations and athlete referrals for office examinations.

            In May of 2000, Woodall earned his Master’s of Science degree in kinesiology from Louisiana University. The department of recreational sports at LSU benefited from Woodall’s services while he was a graduate student. He served as the department’s head athletic trainer for nearly two years. During the same time period, he was the head athletics trainer for University High School in Baton Rouge, La.

            Woodall is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association; the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers Association and the North Carolina Board of Athletic Trainers.

                Miles joined the North Carolina A&T State University Athletics Department staff as an assistant athletic trainer in August of 2005. He is a young, energetic trainer with a bright future. He recently worked under current N.C. A&T head athletic trainer Robert Woodall as a graduate assistant at Averett University in Danville, Va.

            Miles completed is undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro in May of 2003. He has interned with Presbyterian College, worked as the head athletic trainer a Skip Prosser’s Wake Forest University Basketball Camp and worked as student athletic trainer for the then Greensboro Bats.
