71 William Ray Robinson III

Has had a superb career at left tackle for the Aggies…Has an opportunity to play on the next level with his skill set…Comes into the 2014 season as one of he best offensive linemen in the MEAC…Earned first-team All-MEAC honors as a redshirt sophomore…Was also selected as a second-team all-conference lineman after the 2013 season…Missed the last two games of the 2013 season because of a leg injury…Will be responsible for protecting the blindside of Aggie quarterbacks as the starting left tackle…Named second-team preseason All-American by Lindy’s Sports Annuals in 2013…Has the size, drive and skill set to be a dominant force upfront…Has the ability to play both tackle and guard positions…Has a passion for pass blocking and driving defensive linemen off the ball…Rarely gives up sacks, surrendering only one in the last two seasons…Once he is locked on a defensive lineman it will be hard for him to escape with Robinson’s 101 ½ -inch wingspan…Was tied for fourth on the team in bench press max at 390 pounds last spring…Owned the best power clean on the team – 585 pounds – and bench pressed 225 pounds 20 times last spring as well…Did not register in totals during the 2014 spring because of injury…Has played in 30 games with 29 starts…Robinson, a journalism and mass communications major, also gets it done in the classroom…Has earned A&T scholar athlete honors four times and All-MEAC Academic recognition three times. 

2013 Season: Played in nine games with nine starts…Played 614 snaps on the season…Missed the final two games of the season with a knee  injury…Has a knack for not surrendering sacks and was the least penalized lineman on the roster…Slowed down the Appalachian State pass rush and did not allow starting quarterback Kwashaun Quick to be sacked in the Aggies 24-21 win over the Mountaineers on Sept. 7…Kept starter Lewis Kindle off the ground despite the Aggies throwing the ball 38 times in a 23-10 win over Elon on Sept. 14…A&T also compiled 469 yards of total offense in the game as Robinson graded out well…Graded out well and helped the Aggies register 452 yards in a 59-12 win over Virginia University of Lynchburg on Nov. 2

 2012 Season: Started all 11 games for the Aggies…Played 717 snaps during the season…Earned first-team All-MEAC honors at season’s end…Did not surrender a sack all season, which played a part in the Aggies surrendering only 13 on the season…Graded out well against Virginia University of Lynchburg, helping the Aggies throw for 217 yards in the 40-7 win…Aggie quarterbacks dropped back 21 times against Howard and were only sacked once, and Robinson did not allow a sack in the Aggies’ 38-10 win on Oct. 13…Did not allow a sack in 34 pass attempts in a 17-7 win over S.C. State on Nov. 10…Did not allow a sack in 38 pass attempts in the Aggies’ 22-16 overtime win over N.C. Central on Nov. 17.

2011 Season: Played in 10 games with nine starts…Started the first five games of the season at left guard…Started against Delaware State, Howard, Norfolk State and S.C. State at left tackle…Played 582 snaps throughout the season.

High School: Played under Bob Shields at Riverdale Baptist…Robinson earned All-State honors as a senior…His stellar play along the offensive line also earned him a couple of spots in all-star games, including the Crab Bowl and the Prince George’s County vs. SMAC All-Star Game…Did not allow a sack as a senior, and he recorded 100 pancake blocks…Robinson benched 325 pounds and ran a 5.1 in the 40-yard dash.
