GREENSBORO - Twelve Aggies (men and women) have already made their reservations for Bloomington, Ind., to compete in the 2011 NCAA Track and Field East Regionals. Additional Aggies hope to join the group by qualifying on Sunday at the Aggie Classic held at North Carolina A&T's Irwin Belk Track.

The Aggie Classic, a meet designated to give athletes one final chance to qualify for regionals, will be an all day event for track and field enthusiast. The first event is at 11 a.m., and the final event starts 10 hours later. Admission is free.

In order to qualify on Sunday in their particular event, athletes must have a top 48 mark or time among East Regional participants. Three N.C. A&T track and field athletes look to have the best chance of qualifying on Sunday, highlighted by MEAC men's 800 meter champion Danzeto Cephas. Cephas (JR, Kingston, Jamaica), won the 800 with a time of 1:52.00. It was his fastest time of the season. He will try to lower that mark in order to qualify.

Also looking to qualify is Chantal Luedeke in the women's 100 meter hurdles. Sherice Walker will also go for a qualifying time in the 100 meter hurdles, and she will pursue a qualifying mark in the women's long jump.

The Lady Aggies already headed to the NCAA Regionals May 26-28 include Crystal Carrington (4x100 meter relay), Ruth Cassandra-Hunt (4x100 meter relay), Jessica Farr (4x100 meter relay), MEAC long jump champion Shakia Forbes (long jump), Dotrine Jacobs (400 meter hurdles), Krystin Lawson (100 meters, 4x100 meter relay) and Jenea McCammon (400 meter hurdles).

The men headed to Indiana are Jarrell Elliott (200 and 400 meters), Jonathan Hancock (100 meters, 4x100 meter relay), Earl House (4x100 meters), Torrance Womack (100 meters) and Darryl Williams (100 meters).
