Tendler Becomes Freshman All-American

GREENSBORO - Collegiate Baseball News announced its Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team. North Carolina A&T freshman Luke Tendler was one of only two rookie shortstops to make the team. Tendler, a first-team All-MEAC performer, hit .380 with 20 doubles, five triples, six home runs and 53 RBIs.

Tendler (5-11, 181, Wilmington, N.C.) was named N.C. A&T's Freshman Male Athlete of the Year in April. He joins pitcher John Primus, outfielders Jeremy Jones and C.J. Beatty and first baseman Kelvin Freeman as Aggies who have earned Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American honors in the last five seasons. Tendler led the Aggies in hitting, doubles and triples. He led the MEAC in doubles and was second in batting average.
